Wheatmore Middle School is spreading holiday cheer and showing the true meaning of community support this season. The WMS Student Council, the school's boys' basketball team, and Archdale-Trinity Little League came together to sponsor Christmas for 20 middle school students in Haywood County who were impacted by the floods from Hurricane Helene this fall.
In an effort to brighten the holiday season for these students, WMS students generously donated gifts to students from Haywood County. WMS Student Advocate, Ashley Albertson, and WMS School Nutrition Manager, Cassie Spears, took the gifts to the mountains recently, accompanied by their families, to personally deliver them to the students in need.
The kindness and generosity of Wheatmore Middle School did not go unnoticed. During a special dinner, the Fire Chief at North Canton Elementary School recognized Wheatmore Middle School for their contributions and expressed their gratitude to the Warriors with a commemorative metal sign.
