Southmont Elementary School

This year, thirty-one ukuleles were purchased for use by students in grades three through five. With these new instruments, each student will have their own ukulele, helping to make learning more seamless! Students will learn how to tune their ukuleles, identify string notes, form chords, and practice strumming rhythms. The ukulele is an exciting new instrument, and many students have shown interest in learning to play, especially since some already own ukuleles at home. These ukuleles will also provide students the opportunity to explore various aspects of music theory, which they can apply to other instruments as well.
