In a heartwarming celebration of literacy and community, Level Cross Elementary School hosted its 1st Annual March Madness Reading Activity for third graders, bringing together parents, teachers, and administrators for a month filled with storytelling and excitement. Throughout March, third graders gathered in the afternoons as enthusiastic volunteers took turns reading a selection of books to the eager audience.
The event aimed to foster a love for reading and encourage students to explore various genres and authors. Parents and teachers played vital roles in captivating the young audience with animated readings, while administrators also joined in the fun, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in students' education.
The March Madness Reading Activity featured a wide range of books. As each reader took the stage, students were seen laughing, gasping, and fully engaged, clearly showing their appreciation for the stories being shared. After each set of books in the bracket was read, the students voted for their favorite titles and eagerly awaited the results.
The event concluded with today's final vote and the announcement of the winning book, "Gaston" by Kelly DiPucchio.
March Madness successfully introduced students to new books and authors. The third graders have developed a newfound enthusiasm for reading and are excited to delve into the pages of their next adventure. We want to send out a heartfelt thank you to all the parents, teachers, and administrators for sharing these wonderful stories with our students.
