Jessica Hernandez, a representative from Communities in Schools, leads the Service Club at Liberty Elementary. Throughout the month of February, the club organized a Coin Drive to encourage students to make a difference in their community.
With enthusiasm and generosity, students collected spare change, demonstrating the power of small contributions coming together for a greater cause. Their efforts resulted in an impressive total of approximately $400!
Following their successful fundraising initiative, the Service Club members voted to support Samaritan’s Purse, directing the funds to help families in Western North Carolina who continue to face challenges.
This initiative not only provided much-needed support to those in need but also taught students valuable lessons about empathy, teamwork, and the joy of giving back. Their hard work and generosity serve as a shining example of what young leaders can accomplish when they come together for a common purpose.
A huge thank you to all the students, families, and staff who contributed to this incredible effort. Your kindness is making a real difference!
