5th grade students at Trinity Elementary School students participated in an Animal Volume Project during December. Students were assigned the task of creating three-dimensional models of an animal of their choosing using rectangular prisms. Once completing their composite shape, the students had to calculate the volume of each rectangular prism as well as the total volume of their composite model. Students worked on these models at home, in class, and during their STEAM BEP time. Once completed, 75 students were able to display their models in the media center for all grade levels and teachers to see.
