Middle School Girls’ Leadership Group Brings Joy and Support to Local Families

In a small but inspiring corner of our community, a group of middle school girls is making a big difference. These young leaders have turned compassion into action by addressing the needs of local families through creative and heartfelt projects.

Understanding that life’s celebrations are just as important as everyday sustenance, the group recently launched a heartwarming initiative: birthday packages for children in need. These packages include cake mix, frosting, candles, and decorations, ensuring that every child can experience the joy of a birthday celebration, regardless of their family’s financial situation. The idea was born after one of the girls shared her own birthday memories and realized how much it meant to her to have those moments of happiness.

“It’s about more than food or gifts,” said one seventh-grader and one of the project’s leaders. “We want to show people that they’re cared for and that their special moments matter.”

The leadership group meets weekly to plan their projects, brainstorm new ideas, and organize events. Their work is guided by principles of empathy, teamwork, and a shared commitment to making a positive impact. The girls’ determination has inspired teachers, parents, and community members to join in their efforts, offering resources and encouragement.

“It’s incredible to see these young girls stepping up as leaders and role models,” said Mrs. Schofield, the group’s faculty advisor. “They’re not just learning about leadership—they’re living it.”

Through their dedication and creativity, the Girls’ Leadership group is proving that age is no barrier to making a meaningful impact. Their work reminds us all that with a little compassion and teamwork, we can build stronger, more caring communities.
