Kindergarten students at Hopewell Elementary have been learning all about the life cycle of a pumpkin and the different parts of the pumpkin. To bring their lessons to life, the students went on an exciting field trip to a real pumpkin patch!
During the trip, they enjoyed a fun hayride through the fields, where they saw firsthand where pumpkin vines have been growing all summer. Each student also had the chance to pick out and bring home their very own pumpkin!
Back in the classroom, each teacher received a large pumpkin, which the class will cut open and explore to investigate its various parts. It’s a hands-on way for the students to deepen their understanding of how pumpkins grow and develop.
